Comment on their comments.
A simple thank you or even ask them a question back to get the conversation going. Pay attention to what they are saying. Ask for clarification or offer help or support. Let each commenter know that you value their time for being there for you. Be involved in the community. Lurking is fine, but it’s more fun to be involved. When you are involved, people are more likely to take notice of you and want to follow your blog or website.
Also, by being involved, you will get to know other members of the community better and build relationships with them. Participate in discussion forums. There are many discussion forums out there that are related to your niche. Find a few that you think would be beneficial for you to participate in and start taking part in the discussions. Be sure to add value to the conversations and don’t just spam the forum with links to your blog or website. Answer questions on Quora.
Consistency
Post regularly on your platform(s). Also, respond back to the comments in a timely manner. I am located in Japan, in order to boost my posts, I comment back during my afternoons or evenings. Then finish responding back in the next morning. Create a routine based on your audience and follow through. Your audience will gradually learn to rely on you as you stay consistent. This goes for social media platforms as well. Post at the same time, or close to the same time everyday.
And build up a relationship with your followers by being personable. You can do this by responding back to their comments, liking/sharing their posts, and/or tagging them in relevant posts. Cross-post on other platforms that will help you build an audience. For example, if you have a blog about cooking, post your recipes on food sharing websites such as Tasty or Allrecipes. If you have a fashion blog, post your outfits on Polyvore or LIKEtoKNOW.it. This will help you reach a wider audience and build relationships with people who are interested in similar topics as you.
Be friendly.
This is where the emoji can help. When I don’t know someone at first, I tend to use formal language. I want to express that I am polite and respectful. Using the words, please, thank you, etc creates a mood of humility and kindness.
Think of the type of person you want to convey to others, then express that in your writing. Either in chats, your groups, or whichever platform you use.
If you are similar to me and tend to be awkward online, may I suggest some help? Jasper AI can write what I am trying to convey, in the tone I desire. And presto! He writes out things so much better than I could. Sure a little tweaking here and there, but overall? He saves me time and reduces my anxiety about being online.
You want people to feel like they know you. Like they can come up and talk to you without feeling weird or awkward. I’m not saying you need to give out your address or phone number (unless you’re comfortable with that), but maybe show your face in pictures or in videos. Let people see the person behind the profile picture. When people feel like they know you, they are more likely to support you and what you do.
You want to be where your potential readers are. For me, that’s Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. I have a presence on all three platforms and I interact with people on all three platforms.
If you’re not sure which platform to use, my suggestion is to start with the one you’re most comfortable with. Once you get the hang of things, branch out and try another platform.
This goes for everything from social media platforms to blog posts to even publishing each chapter of your stories.
Be approachable
Show parts of your life, and become approachable. Some authors want to remain anonymous. I can understand this. We can be creative by wearing different masks or showing different locations that inspire our stories. Maybe display pictures of what you are writing about, or eating that day that will help you push forward in writing your books. But at the same time, by showing some parts of your life, you are letting your readers know that you are a real person.
And by being approachable, you are giving them the opportunity to build a relationship with you. So, don’t be afraid to show your face and let your personality shine through! There you have it! These are ten tips that will help you build an audience of loyal readers. If you follow these tips and remain consistent, you will definitely see success. Building an audience takes time and effort, but it is definitely worth it in the end. So, what are you waiting for? Start building your audience today! And I can give one last tip: always remember to be yourself

Emoji’s
Use emojis but don’t go overboard. I have a tendency to use tons of emojis. Yes, I need to cut back. But the lack of emojis is worse. Find the emojis that you feel are a part of your personality. Use them when appropriate.
